Smart Scan looks at the software on a device, the files it has downloaded and the settings that quietly leave it open, then scores what it finds and puts the things worth fixing at the top.
How it works
1. Run it
One tap starts a full pass. A first scan takes a couple of minutes; scheduled ones run at night and use a single processor core.
2. Read the score
Everything found is grouped and scored, so a missing screen lock does not get the same weight as adware injecting into your browser.
3. Fix in order
Each finding has one action next to it. Work down the list, or use Fix Next and let AVO pick the order.

Does a Mac need antivirus
macOS blocks known malware, but it does not warn you about phishing links, adware bundled with free downloads, or a password of yours turning up in a leak. Those are the three things a first AVO scan usually finds.
How long does a scan take
A first full scan takes a few minutes. After that, scheduled scans run at night and only look at what has changed.
Will it slow my computer down
A full scan uses one processor core, and you can pause it for an hour from the menu bar.
